猴子捞月亮的英文故事是怎样的?

The Moon Was Always in the Sky One evening in a lush forest, a group of monkeys played near a well. Suddenly, a young monkey peered into the water and shouted, “Look! The moon has fallen into the well!” The others crowded around, chattering anxiously. They all saw the round, glowing reflection and believed the moon was trapped below.

An old monkey climbed to the well’s edge and declared, “We must save the moon!” Quickly, the monkeys linked tails to form a chain, stretching down into the well. The smallest monkey dangled at the bottom, reaching for the shimmering image. *“I’ve got it!”* he cried, grabbing at the water—but his paws only stirred ripples, making the moon “break” into pieces. Panicked, he yelled, “It’s slipping away!”

For hours, the monkeys struggled, pulling and stretching, yet the moon remained just out of reach. Tired and confused, they collapsed onto the ground. Then, one monkey glanced upward and gasped, “Look! The moon is still in the sky!” All eyes turned upward, where the real moon shone calmly among the stars.

The monkeys stared at the well, then at the sky, and laughed. They had chased a shadow, forgetting to look beyond the surface. In that moment, they learned a lesson: things are not always what they seem.

As night deepened, the moon’s reflection still danced in the well, but the monkeys knew better. They returned to their trees, wiser, and whispered the story to their little ones—*a tale of curiosity, mistake, and the wisdom to see what is real.*
