as well as与as well：用法上的区别你真的清楚吗？

很多人在使用英语时，常常会把as well和as well as混为一谈，觉得它们都是“也”的意思，随便用就行。但实际上，这两个短语的用法差异很大，稍不意就会出错。

先看as well。它是一个副词短语，意思是“也、还”，通常放在句子的末尾，不能出现在句子。比如：“I ate breakfast this morning, and I drank a cup of milk as well.” 这里as well替代了“too”，表示“也喝了牛奶”。再比如：“She finished her report on time, and she submitted it to the boss as well.” 这句话里，as well放在句末，“也提交给了老板”。它的用法和“also”有点像，但“also”更常用在句中，而as well只在句末出现。

接下来是as well as，它的用法更灵活，主要有两种情况。第一种是作为并列连词，连接两个相同的成分比如名词、动词、形容词，意思是“和、以及”，位置在句子。例如：“The restaurant serves Chinese food as well as Western food.” 这里连接的是“Chinese food”和“Western food”，说明餐厅既提供中餐也提供西餐。再比如：“He likes playing football as well as watching movies.” 它连接了“playing football”和“watching movies”，表示他既喜欢踢足球也喜欢看电影。第二种用法是表示“和……一样好”，属于比较结构。比如：“She speaks English as well as a native speaker.” 意思是她英语说得和母语者一样好。还有：“This book is written as well as that one.” 指这本书写得和那本一样好。

需要特别意的是，当as well as连接两个主语时，谓语动词要和前面的主语保持一致。比如：“My father as well as my mother is very kind to me.” 这里主语是“My father”，所以谓语用“is”，而不是“are”。再比如：“The teacher as well as the students is interested in the new project.” 主语是“The teacher”，谓语用“is”。

我们用两个句子对比一下就能更清楚：“He bought a pen as well.”他也买了一支笔——as well在句末，表“也”；“He bought a pen as well as a notebook.”他买了一支笔和一个笔记本——as well as在句中，连接两个名词，表“和”。再比如：“She can dance as well.”她也会跳舞vs “She can dance as well as her sister.”她跳舞和姐姐一样好——前者是“也”，后者是“和……一样好”。
